Another evening of laughter-filled entertainment at The Warbrobe Theatre, and once again with our friends (comedy gets boring when you're alone)! THEM PEEPS: Alice Matthews Luke Sargeant Joshua Rosenburg Hannah Horan Luke Mallison 25th-28th February 2014 After sell-out shows at their favourite Bristol haunt, the Wardrobe Theatre, the Revunions went their most ambitious yet: they went and invited some of their "comedy pals" who also happened to be (almost, nearly) semi-professional comedians! Four nights of sell-out shows, great audience receptions and fantastic entertainment seemed a bit out their reach so they just did the best they could* * ironic comedy phrasing to mean the opposite. THE PALS: 25th-26th - Twins (Annie McGrath and Jack Barry) "undeniable comic chemistry, bouncing off each other with a genuine ease and charm that many double-acts will struggle to emulate" (fest) 27th - Ellie White (featured on the BBC's 'Fresh from the Fringe', 2013) 28th - Ollie Jones-Evans "absolutely hysterical physicality" (Broadway Baby)
"As usual, Revunions have produced an excellent show" ★★★★ "energetic and engaging from start to finish" 12th February 2014 We made the journey eastwards once again to show the county what we could do. Together with the Leeds Tealights and the Cambridge Footlights (obviously), we performed some blinders, like the infamous 'Tilly'. "Oozing talent" 7/10 22nd January 2014 Nothing to say but sell-out, hot and sweaty stand-up comedy from the best of Revs plus long time associate Martin Pilgrim with his geniusly funny friend Alice Matthews.
4th-6th December 2013 Arguably their most ambitious show to date, Presents actually had a set and everything! And it was in a theatre! Playing to three full nights, this was a barnstormer of a show and a massive success. "terrifyingly hilarious" ★★★★
13th November 2013 To a packed out crowd, The Revunions rose again at their favourite comedy haunt. In collaboration with The Bristol Improv, the two groups brought the house down with raucous new material.
2nd October 2013 Highlight reel of our two Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows at our favourite Wardrobe Theatre. Not much too sexy to say about it. It went well and that, people came and that, we did good and that. CAST:
Pete Simpson Hugh Stanley Hector Dyer James Alexander Hannah Horan Owen Petty As part of the Bristol Revunions (NASTa Comedy Awards Winner May '13) double billing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe they served up a lightning speed hour of fresh double cream sketch comedy that didn't leave the audience alone until they had stopped laughing and wiped the sweat from their faces. Following their first dipping into the PBH Free Fringe at the 2012 Fringe, the Revunions doubled their stay this time round, making the Dram House their home for the whole month, with double the goodness. The Dram House, Niddry Street, 3rd-24th August (not 13th)
"the energy is catching, and the show genuinely enjoyable" ★★★ Second on this award winning group's bill at the Fringe was their show Elegant Nymphs. The dramatic story of four hardy Nymphs in search of the fame, dignity and literary respect they previously felt they deserved all their insignificant lives. Needless to say, no was ever going to care about them so people just laughed. A lot. But that was good because it was comedy show. You really thought all that stuff earlier was meant to serious? BAH! For their 5th consecutive year at the Fringe, the Revunions put on a stormer and there was also a storm. Just the Tonic at the Caves, Just Up the Stairs, Cowgate, 1st-25th August (not 13th) "they can and will have sex with you without you knowing" ★★★★ "bursting with energy, wit and genius comic timing" ★★★
During their run at the Fringe 2013, The Revunions were invited to take part in an evening of the UK's best University sketch troupes in an informal sketch off. Incl: The Leeds Tealights, The Cambridge Footlights, The Oxford Revue, The Durham Revue and the UCL Graters.
In an impressive display of talent the Revunions were runners-up to the eventual winners of the evening, and our long-time friends, the Leeds Tealights. |
